FIRST GEN SCHOLARSHIPS
Help Bridge the Gap for First-Gen Students
Many people assume a “full scholarship” covers everything—but in reality, it usually only pays for tuition and fees. Students are still left with major expenses like housing, meals, books, and student fees, which can total $10,000–$18,000 per year.
At First Gen Texas, we accept donations starting at just $100—one-time or annually.
Small gifts are pooled into a student support fund to help cover things like textbooks, lab fees, and supplies.
Larger gifts can be directed toward major needs like tuition, housing and meal plans.
With a donation of $1,000 or more annually, donors can create a Named Scholarship in honor of a person, business, or cause.
Endowed scholarships can also be established with a larger gift to create lasting impact year after year. With an endowment, First Gen Texas will work with the donor to set scholarship criteria, create a custom application, provide the opportunity to review applicants and select the scholarship recipient.
